The Denver Broncos have activated guard Ben Powers from injured reserve, returning him to the 53-man roster ahead of their Week 16 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The move was announced by the team on Saturday.

Powers had been sidelined since suffering a biceps injury in Week 5 during a game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was designated for return and resumed practice before Week 15. Head Coach Sean Payton commented on Powers’ reintegration into play, stating, “Understand this: There’s always that transition period,” and added, “So, we’re never going to throw someone in there for 65 [plays]. There’s that transition period for anyone who’s coming off an injury like that.”

Before his injury, Powers had started 39 consecutive games for Denver after joining the team prior to the 2023 season.

In addition to Powers’ activation, quarterback Sam Ehlinger and safety Delarrin Turner-Yell were elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game. Ehlinger was also elevated in Week 15, while this is Turner-Yell’s first elevation this season. Turner-Yell has played in 30 career games with his last regular-season appearance occurring in 2023.

The Broncos also signed guard Calvin Throckmorton to their practice squad after he was waived earlier in the week.

Denver will face Jacksonville at home on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. Mountain Time, with broadcast coverage on FOX.
