The Denver Broncos have reinstated inside linebacker Karene Reid from injured reserve, the team announced on Tuesday. Reid, a rookie who joined the Broncos as an undrafted free agent, was designated for return and resumed practice on December 17. The activation occurred before his 21-day window expired; otherwise, he would have been placed back on injured reserve for the rest of the season.
Reid played in Denver’s first ten games this year before sustaining an injury during Week 10 against the Raiders. He had contributed to 59 percent of the team’s special teams snaps prior to his injury.
In addition to Reid’s activation, Denver signed defensive back Tanner McCalister to its practice squad. McCalister previously appeared in three games for the Broncos in 2024 and spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad later in the season.
According to the team, there was no need for a corresponding roster move because an open spot was available following Monday’s transactions.
