The Denver Broncos have announced that tight end Lucas Krull has been designated for return from injured reserve. The team made the announcement on Tuesday after Krull participated in the media-viewing portion of practice.
Krull, who was placed on injured reserve in early October, has appeared in three games this season. During those games, he recorded two catches for 15 yards and played 29 percent of the team’s offensive snaps as well as 32 percent of special teams snaps. In the previous season, Krull had his most productive year with 19 receptions for 152 yards.
With this designation, Krull can be activated to Denver’s 53-man roster at any time within a 21-day window. If he is not activated during this period, he will remain on injured reserve for the rest of the season. There is a possibility that Krull could play in Saturday’s game against the Bills if he is activated.
This move marks the seventh player Denver has designated for return from injured reserve out of a possible ten this season. The Broncos have previously designated defensive tackle Malcolm Roach, linebacker Dre Greenlaw, former linebacker Garret Wallow, guard Ben Powers, and inside linebacker Karene Reid for return since the regular season began; all five were subsequently activated. Linebacker Drew Sanders was also designated earlier in the season and recently began his own 21-day practice window.
The team received two additional designations at the start of the postseason, increasing their total allotment to ten players eligible to return from injured reserve.
