The Denver Broncos have made adjustments to their roster ahead of their Week 14 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. On Saturday, the team announced that tight end Marcedes Lewis has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster. This move follows the team’s decision to waive linebacker Garret Wallow.
Lewis, who joined Denver’s practice squad in late October, has appeared in three games for the Broncos this season. The veteran tight end, a first-round pick in 2006, became the oldest player to participate in a game for Denver and played 20 percent of the team’s offensive snaps during those appearances. After being elevated for three games, league rules required that Lewis be promoted to the active roster for further participation.
His promotion comes after Nate Adkins was ruled out on Friday for Sunday’s matchup.
In addition to Lewis’ promotion, inside linebacker Jordan Turner has been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s divisional contest. Turner is an undrafted rookie from Michigan State and has previously been elevated twice this season, playing 59 percent of Denver’s special teams snaps in those games.
The Broncos are looking to extend their winning streak to ten games as they face off against the Raiders on Sunday.
