The Denver Broncos announced on Mar. 12 that they have released linebacker Dre Greenlaw with a post-June 1 designation.
The move is significant for the team’s roster and salary cap management, as the post-June 1 designation allows the Broncos to spread Greenlaw’s salary cap hit over two seasons and receive the resulting savings after June 1.
Greenlaw joined the Broncos ahead of the 2025 season and played in a total of 10 games last year. During eight regular-season appearances, he recorded 43 tackles, two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, one sack, one forced fumble, one interception, and two passes defensed. He was on the field for 58 percent of Denver’s defensive snaps during those games.
The decision to release Greenlaw reflects ongoing adjustments to the Broncos’ roster as they prepare for future seasons. The team did not provide additional details about plans to fill his position or further changes to their lineup.
