The Denver Broncos have reached a four-year contract extension with center Luke Wattenberg, the team announced on Wednesday. Wattenberg, who joined the Broncos as a fifth-round draft pick in 2022, has been starting at center since the beginning of the 2024 season and was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this year.
Wattenberg has started all 11 games so far in 2025 and has played every snap for Denver. According to NFL’s NextGen Stats, he currently holds the second-lowest quarterback pressure percentage (3.8%) among centers with at least 400 pass-blocking snaps and is one of only two centers with that many snaps not to allow a sack this season.

The Broncos have also extended contracts for several other players recently. Defensive tackle Malcolm Roach agreed to an extension on Wednesday, while kicker Wil Lutz received his extension earlier in the week. Since training camp began, wide receiver Courtland Sutton, defensive lineman Zach Allen, and outside linebacker Nik Bonitto have also secured new deals.
