The Denver Broncos announced on Mar. 20 that they have signed unrestricted free agent safety Tycen Anderson to a one-year contract.
The move adds depth to the Broncos’ defensive backfield as the team continues to shape its roster for the upcoming season.
Anderson, who was drafted in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, played in 41 games for the Cincinnati Bengals. He appeared in each of Cincinnati’s last 34 games and contributed significantly on special teams, playing at least 75 percent of special teams snaps over the past two seasons. In 2025, Anderson participated in 83 percent of special teams snaps and six percent of defensive snaps, recording 16 special teams tackles according to official NFL statistics.
During his time with the Bengals, Anderson led the team in special teams stops in both 2023 and 2024, making eight and eleven total tackles respectively. The Broncos noted that he is their first external unrestricted free agent signing since the start of the league year. The team also recently acquired wide receiver Jaylen Waddle via trade and has re-signed several internal free agents.
Anderson played college football at Toledo before entering the NFL.
