The Denver Broncos announced on April 27 their selections from the 2026 National Football League Draft, adding seven new players to their roster. The team did not have a first-round pick this year after trading it earlier in the offseason to acquire wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
The announcement is significant as it marks a key step in shaping the Broncos’ roster ahead of the upcoming season. The team focused on selecting players who can contribute across various positions and add depth and competition.
The Broncos began their draft activity late in the second round by trading pick number 62 to Buffalo for picks number 66 and 182, increasing their overall draft capital. With their first selection, they chose defensive tackle Tyler Onyedim from Texas A&M University, who has five years of college experience and was noted for his agility and durability.
On day three of the draft, Denver selected running back Jonah Coleman from Washington University, offensive tackle Kage Casey from Boise State, tight end Justin Joly from North Carolina State, safety Miles Scott from Illinois, tight end Dallen Bentley from Utah, and linebacker Red Murdock from Buffalo. These selections were made through strategic trades that allowed the team to move both up and down in different rounds.
According to the organization’s statement, “the result is a class of seven players whose common denominator is production and personality that fits with the team’s culture,” emphasizing depth and internal competition as priorities heading into training camp.
Looking forward, undrafted rookie free agents will also have an opportunity to join the team during offseason activities under Head Coach Sean Payton. The next phase will focus on preparing for the new season with these additions.
