The Denver Broncos announced on Mar. 10 that they have re-signed inside linebacker Justin Strnad to a three-year contract.
Strnad’s return is seen as an important move for the team’s defense, as he has been a consistent presence in the lineup over recent seasons. The team said Strnad appeared in 16 games and started eight contests during the 2025 season, recording 58 tackles, five tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, three passes defensed, one interception, and a career-high eight quarterback hits. His fourth-quarter interception in Week 7 against the Giants was noted as helping to start one of the biggest comebacks in franchise history.
Strnad also started eight games in 2024 and has started a total of 21 games over his five-year career with Denver. Since the beginning of the 2021 season, he has played in 83 out of a possible 85 regular-season games. Over his career since being drafted in the fifth round in 2020, Strnad has accumulated 177 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits, seven and a half sacks, six passes defensed, and one interception.
In addition to his defensive contributions—playing more than half of Denver’s defensive snaps each of the last two seasons—Strnad has also participated on special teams, playing at least thirty percent of those snaps during that period.
Alongside Strnad and fellow inside linebacker Alex Singleton re-signing with the team, Denver has also brought back offensive lineman Alex Palczewski and tight ends Adam Trautman and Nate Adkins.
