As the Denver Broncos prepare for their final regular-season game, five of their players have been named to ESPN’s All-Pro teams by analyst Bill Barnwell. This is the highest number of selections for any NFL team this season.
Tackle Garett Bolles and defensive lineman Zach Allen were both chosen for the first-team honors. Bolles was recognized for his performance on the offensive line. “I’m not sure there’s a more underrated offensive lineman in the league,” Barnwell wrote of Bolles. “… According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Bolles has allowed just one sack all season. Just 6.2% of his one-on-one blocks have resulted in pressures, the second-lowest rate in the NFL.”
Allen also received praise from Barnwell, who noted Allen’s impact on defense. “Allen’s just completely unblockable at times on the interior, which helps funnel quarterbacks to those speedy edge rushers,” Barnwell wrote.
In addition to Bolles and Allen, cornerback Pat Surtain II, outside linebacker Nik Bonitto, and safety Talanoa Hufanga were also included on Barnwell’s list.
The recognition highlights the strong performances by Broncos players throughout the season as they head into their last regular-season matchup.
