Wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. of the Denver Broncos has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 14, following his performance in Sunday’s victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
The NFL announced on Wednesday that Mims received this recognition after scoring his first career punt-return touchdown during the Broncos’ 24-17 win. The play occurred in the second quarter, when Mims returned a punt 48 yards for a touchdown, breaking a 7-7 tie and giving Denver a lead it maintained for the rest of the game.
Mims has now won this award three times in his career. He is also the first Broncos player to return a punt for a touchdown since 2020.
He joins teammates Nik Bonitto (Week 5), Jonathon Cooper (Week 6), and Wil Lutz (Week 11) as Broncos players who have earned Player of the Week honors this season.
Previously, Mims was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 15 of 2024 and Week 10 of 2023.
