CITY OF CENTENNIAL: Expect to see a yellow & blue helicopter flying through Centennial

Announcement

City of Centennial issued the following announcement on Oct. 8.

Depending on weather and smoke conditions, expect to see a yellow and blue Robinson R44 helicopter flying throughout Centennial starting next week to complete a three-dimensional mapping project. The helicopter will be flying within FAA altitude limits but may be lower than residents are used to seeing. It will also be flying in repeated circular patterns in four areas described:

  1. East of I-25, West of Yosemite, South of Arapahoe Road, and North of County Line Road
  2. Along University Blvd between Arapahoe Road and County Line Road
  3. Along Smoky Hill Road between Chambers Road and E-470
  4. East of Centennial Airport, West of Jordan Road, South of Arapahoe Road, and North of the Centennial Airport Control Tower
Each area is anticipated to be mapped in one day. Mapping operations will generally occur between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., however, the exact days and hours will depend on weather and conditions.
