- Colorado State senior Isaiah Stevens is one of 20 watch list candidates for the 2023 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award. He was a finalist for the award in 2022.
- For the second time in as many years, SDSU's Matt Bradley has been included on the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's initial watch list for the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award.
- Wyoming's Graham Ike is the first Cowboy to be named to the Karl Malone Watch List since the 2014-15 season. Ike is one of 20 members listed to the watch list.
- San Diego State is ranked No. 19 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25 Poll, marking the fourth time since 2010-11 that the Aztecs appeared in the preseason AP Poll. Additionally, Wyoming is receiving votes in the AP poll.
- San Diego State is No. 20 in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll, while Wyoming and Boise State are receiving votes.
- The Mountain West is one of seven conferences to have three or more teams ranked or receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll to start the season, just one of two conferences outside the autonomous five.
