Census Bureau: 8.8% of people in Arapahoe County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 651,621 citizens living in Arapahoe County in 2021, 91.2% said they were only one race, while 8.8% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Arapahoe County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 67.2% or 437,618 individuals. Following them, African American accounted for 11% and totaled 71,698 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Arapahoe County is 0.4% higher than the state average, which stands at 8.4%.
