City of Centennial issued the following announcement on Aug. 7.
The City of Centennial in partnership with Arapahoe County Open Space, South Suburban Parks and Recreation, Arapahoe Park and Recreation District, Greenwood Village, and the High Line Canal Conservancy asked for the public to help name a trail in Centennial. Not just any trail, but the first-ever continuous trail that will span the entire length of the City of Centennial from east to west. The trail is approximately 16 miles long and will use existing trails, sidewalks, on-street facilities, and some new trail segments to connect Piney Creek Hollow Park on the east side, west to South Broadway.
The public was asked to select their favorite trail name out of four options and 444 votes were received resulting in 38% selecting Centennial Link Trail as the name.
Thank you to everyone who participated in selecting the name. Each voter had the opportunity to provide their name to be randomly selected to receive a YETI cooler. Centennial Mayor Piko randomly selected Dorothy Andes as the recipient of the cooler. Congratulations Dorothy!
