Value of Financials company National Bank Holdings Corp. (NBHC:NYQ) based in Greenwood Village rose 26.5% in week ending Aug. 20

Value in Financials stocks rose 1.3 percent in the week ending Aug. 20 from the previous week.

The strongest performing Financials company in Colorado was Liberty Media Acquisition Corp. (LMACA:NAQ), sitting 6,808,206.1 percent higher to sell at $9.87.

Gores Holdings VIII Inc. (GIIX:NAQ) fared the worst among Colorado companies, suffering a 76.8 percent drop to $9.88.

Among Greenwood Village companies, National Bank Holdings Corp. (NBHC:NYQ) saw the highest rise in value of 26.5 percent in the week ending Aug. 20.

The Energy sector was the week’s best-performing sector on the market. The market is divided into 11 different sectors.

Health Care was the worst-performing sector.

Healthcare and technology stocks are viewed as the safest bets for long-term gains.

Besty Kuekcer with Benzinga.com said healthcare-related stocks, such as hospital conglomerates and insurance companies, have weathered numerous economic crises and still make a profit, suggesting that they are generally a stable investment.

While technology stocks can be more risky, given the boom-bust nature of new tech companies, Kuecker recommended a diverse portfolio of tech companies to strike it big when companies succeed or sell to other larger companies.

For short-term investments, Kuecker recommended “consumer discretionary” stocks, which are sensitive to economic changes but can rise greatly on the back of a strong economy.
